Rumors, few of them good, have been swirling around the George Miller JLA film. IESB.net quoted an anonymous source who said, "'Justice League' is indeed in danger of not starting production on time and maybe even getting scrapped altogether," which sounds like a death knell if it's true. The tipster also said, "The concerns are that the script is not ready to go in front of cameras, and also that the budget is getting a bit out of control. The WGA strike has proven to be Kryptonite to Superman and friends."
The site quotes another (anonymous) source, who told them, "'Justice League' has been pushed back to at least April or May, and possibly a start date as late as June or July...that is, of course, if the movie doesn't get scrapped altogether."
Serious stuff.
But the word is dribbling in from Australia that, despite rumors to the contrary, the cast is arriving according to News.com.au.
Actress Megan Gale, widely believed to be cast as Wonder Woman, is "in full training mode," while actress Teresa Palmer, who plays villain Talia al Ghul, is on her way.
Meanwhile, cast member Jay Baruchel ("Knocked Up") has been chatting up a "secret project" in an interview with Canada.com. While the words "Justice League" don't appear to have been mentioned, Baruchel hinted, "The [film] I'm doing now will be a real cracker. It will be insane." The project he's on will be the most expensive Warner Brothers film ever made, according to the article, and Baruchel is already in rehearsals for a shoot beginning in February, not June.
What does this mean for fans? A lot more speculation, and a lot more waiting.
