When last we saw our heroes, Brentwood had gone off with Thailog, Delilah had told both Thailog and Goliath to perform anatomically impossible functions on themselves, and, oh yes, Goliath was dying from a stab wound with hours to go until sunrise.
This is not the continuation of that story. Exactly one panel explains the previous plot, and that Goliath is "fine," and then we move into a story Shari tells Thailog about how Elisa, Goliath, Angela and Bronx met up with Coldstone while they were on the World Tour. (Because the World Tour clearly wasn't long enough. Greg.) Apparently the travelers made a pit-stop in the Himalayas and ran into poor Coldstone who was hiding out pretending to be a yeti. (Not quite. Don't worry about it.
The sixth installment of the comic is an interesting pause in the main storyline, but it comes at an unusual time. The theme of rebuilding the clan is obviously present, but everything is skewed. Shari (a play on Scheherazade, or more likely the woman herself in this particular universe) tells a story we have no way of knowing how she knows. The drama from the end of the last issue is abruptly ended. The story itself hearkens back to a time when many voices in the fandom were wondering what on earth the point of the show was, after months without half the cast. Everything is out of focus, and that may be the point, but it comes across as jarring. Coldsteel's appearance at the end just serves the muddy the future further.
Overall, it feels like a misstep, but no doubt everything will fold neatly into the rest of the story, given time.
