J.K. Rowling has written an 800 word prequel to the Harry Potter books, to be auctioned off for charity.

According to the Rowling was asked by the Waterstone's, a bookseller, to donate an A5 card for an auction to benefit two charities, English Pen and Dyslexia Action.

Rowling responded by writing an 800 word prequel the Harry Potter series.

The auction will take place on June 10th, and Waterstone's has said that a facsimile of the story will be displayed in their branches the day after, a good thing since I suspect that this prequel will cost more than most of us will make in our lifetimes! (Remeber that her Tales of Beedle the Bard was purchased by amazon.com for almost 2 million pounds.) I'll also hope that the story will make it to the web shortly after, since plane tickets to London on short notice aren't in the budget either!
