Remember that scary 1980s mini-series about the Visitors who came to our planet, charmed our young people and politicians, and snacked on live mice and guinea pigs? It's coming back.

The new version of the show doesn't feature any of the original actors, like Marc Singer (Beastmaster) or a pre- Freddy Krueger Robert Englund, but will focus on a Homeland Security agent, Erica Evans, whose son becomes involved with the Visitors--those wacky kids! What will they get into next?

The upcoming series will be produced by Warner Bros. TV, the same company that produced the original mini-series, which did extremely well.

Scott Peters, Emmy-nominated for his work on The 4400, has written the preliminary scripts  which are in development by ABC.

But the franchise hopes to expand beyond just one small screen as HDFilms principal Jace Hall expects to take "V" into videogaming venues as well.

Producer of the original series Kenneth Johnson had wanted to take the franchise further than its original series ending for some time, but had run into a number of legal barriers.

No date is set for the reptiles' arrival at this time.
