The BBC has announced that Ronnie Corbett will be part of the mini episode of Sarah Jane Adventures that will appear on the Red Nose Day "Funny for Money" special on March 13. Authors Gareth Roberts and Clayton Hickman have written a standalone story that includes Lis Sladen, Tommy Knight, Daniel Anthony, Anjli Mohindra, K-9, and "the return of an old enemy."

Ronnie Corbett, a Scottish comedian, is best known overseas for repeats of his hit 1970s series "The Two Ronnies" with Ronnie Barker.  Roberts and Hickman have teamed up for Doctor Who before, co-writing the Big Finish audio adventures The One Doctor and  Bang-Bang-a-Boom.  Separately, Hickman was the longest-serving editor of Doctor Who Magazine while Roberts wrote several tie-in novels, The Attack of the Graske special, and new Who episodes The Shakespeare Code and The Unicorn And The Wasp.
Roberts has also written the Sarah Jane Adventures episodes Revenge of the Slitheen, Whatever Happened To Sarah Jane, and Secrets of the Stars, as well as co-writing the premiere episode Invasion of the Bane with Russell T Davies.

Red Nose Day
is a long-running charity event started in 1985 with a live Comic Relief special for famine victims aired on BBC One Christmas day. In 1988 it became an annual event with BBC sponsorship and has broadened to cover a variety of charities.  Doctor Who has an equally long-running presence in Red Nose Day, starting with the Moffat-penned parody "Curse of the Fatal Death" in 1999, where a variety of stars starting with Rowan Atkinson played the Doctor to Jonathan Pryce's Master.  In recent years Doctor Who's status as the BBC flagpole has led to closer connections, such as the Catherine Tate-David Tennant sketch before she became a companion.  This year, in addition to the Sarah Jane Adventures special, David Tennant will be presenting.
