Lifetime TV has greenlit a supernatural-based miniseries called "The Gathering." According to Reuters, the movie will focus on the modern-day story of a man searching for his missing wife. As he digs deeper, he discovers a coven of witches who may be behind her disappearance.
No casting choices have yet been announced, though the mini is supposed to air in the fall.
Lifetime has been building credibility with the genre crowd with the success of its new vampire/romance/detective series Blood Ties. If "The Gathering" does choose a supernatural explanation for the denouement, the audience should be at least somewhat receptive to the idea. (And if there's crossover potential, so much the better!)

Hopefully, they won't make the witches the stereotypical evil bad witches. However, I have been very, very impressed by Lifetime's Blood Ties, so I'm optimistic that this'll be a decent show.
