David Goyer is quite the busy guy these days, and now it looks like he'll be helming an "X-Men" spinoff for popular character "Magneto." According to the Hollywood Reporter, Goyer will be working off a script by Sheldon Turner.  The story focuses on young Erik Lehnsherr and the origins and downfall of his friendship with Charles Xavier.
In the "X-Men" films, Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart filled those roles and became for many people the faces of Magneto and Professor X.  The new film will require recasting yuonger actors, probably in their 20's; the slash that already exists for the two characters will probably implode the Net shortly after the casting is announced.

A "Wolverine" movie is also in the works for a 2008 release.  More updates on that project as they become public.
