Torchwood US is in production.
Given the time frame, and the lack of current publicity, this is likely the pilot episode only. Since we already know via The Hollywood Reporter that FOX has expressed interest in the show, it's possible that the rumoured, revered and feared version of the series, Torchwood USA on FOX, is headed our way sooner rather than later.
If it is a continuation of the UK series, sad news for those wishing for Gareth David-Lloyd's return as the ghost of Torchwood past: his April schedule has been packed with extraneous events.
Eve Myles' involvement in the new series remains unknown.
We've received confirmation from the BBC that it is "absolutely false" that this Torchwood project has completed production. I will post any additional information that I receive from the BBC. For the moment, I'm striking out the whole dang text until I know what, if any, truth there is in this article. Fans will also note that the byline has changed to "Site Staff." Since we know that people will notice this, we'd like to clarify that multiple people have worked on this article. Currie wasn't the only one involved in this story, and Currie wasn't the initial source of the rumor. The initial person to bring up the rumor was my assistant, who had a seemingly credible source.
I also want to remind our readers that Firefox News is a small site, run by very active members of fandom. Almost all of our writers are also fans. With that sort of background in mind, I want to stress that this article was not an attempt to troll the fans, or to create trouble or drama. We were honestly conveying a rumor that we believed to be credible.
I created this site out of a love for speculative fiction and media fandom. Seeing fans misled, or allowing misinformation to remain on my site without posting a correction as soon as I become aware of the issue, is not in keeping with that feeling of affection for my own tribe. I know there are some fans who feel that this article was not sufficiently researched or vetted. As the editor of the site, I personally apologize.
If anyone has any questions, you can reach me via the contact form at the top of the page. It forwards the messages directly to my e-mail.

this is the worst possible news. The series is destroyed.

This is the best possible news.

A reminder from your friendly neighborhood moderator: the ratings are for the quality of the article, not whether you like or dislike the news it's telling you. I'm worried about what "Yankwood" means for the franchise too.

So a pilot episode has finished filmed without any news surfacing as to who has been cast, no other news outlet picking up on it and no photos appearing from the set? Seems a tad unlikely.
And John's schedule isn't clear until October as he has a second series of Tonight's the Night filming in the UK this summer and is back in the country after his stint on Desperate Housewives finishes.
All strikes me as rather unlikely...

Yeah, I don't get where any news is being reported here. It's like the author made this up completely and tossed in some old links to related speculation.

The news comes from a source related to the project who asked not to be named. Also, it is almost certainly the pilot, which would then have to be reviewed (read: completely rewritten) by FOX execs, and while we've been told JB is involved with the project, it may be in a cameo only role. The source didn't say, merely that he is involved.

Funny that the pilot isn't in any of the lists of greenlit projects Fox or any the other networks have in the hopper that appear in Variety or The Hollywood Reporter. That doesn't lend credence to this report.

An odd article, it'll be interesting to see if any of this turns out to be true...
Should point out that there's no point in quoting GDL's events calendar; it only details appearances, not what he's working on. That doesn't suggest that the author is diligent in their research. (Not that I think GDL will be appearing in S4 if it happens)

Wrong. Barrowman has been here shooting DH, while FOX has passed on Torchwood.

If you're not "trolling fandom" why not remove it instead of striking through? The story is rubbish and you know it. If anything was in production it would be on Fox's production list and it's not. Stop stirring the pot.

BBC has now confirmed Fox has passed. That seems to be the new information you can post as a follow up to this.
Or remove it altogether.
