Director Kevin Smith is living the comic geek's dream. Not only is he a well-known name in Hollywood due to his (somewhat miscounted) New Jersey Trilogy and "Jersey Girl," he's gotten to make movies about geeks who hang out discussing comics and even about geeks who make movies based on comics (featuring Mar Hamill and Carrie Fisher). Now he's once again coming front and center to fandom, by writing and directing an episode of Heroes: Origins.  Smith's new gig was announced this weekend at ComicCon while he also previewed his new series Reaper, which will be playing on The CW.

Smith joked, "I just don't want to be the guy who ruins Heroes."  Worries aside, the Heroes buzz is high this year, though the folks involved are keeping things much closer than before.

Series regular Adrian Pasdar said, "Last year we were looking to talk to anybody who wanted to talk to us.  This year the degree of secrecy is a lot higher in what we can say…No matter who your favorite character is, the things that are going to happen in this season will be exciting to the point of being numbing for fans. This season is not about defining them by their own behavior…there's a lot more at stake."
