Tonight's odd rumor: Edward Furlong to reprise his role as John Connor in the next "Terminator" flick.  Ain't It Cool News is floating a whisper of a rumor from an unnamed source (who may have also been by the IMDB) that Furlong is going to be the semi-messiah once more at least according to his agent.  The new movie has seen new life ever since the rights to the franchise were purchased, and with The Sarah Connor Chronicles gaining steam, there's actual hope it will see the light of day.
The question is, how badly will the continuity be blown if Furlong does take the role?

The IMDB summary of the film (take also with a grain of salt):

After the drastic effects of Terminator 3, the story continues as John Connor and soon to be wife Kate Brewster realize they must create a resistance organization with Earth's remaining survivors against the army of robots slowly being built up by Skynet. As they are building this resistance, one survivor happens to be a traitor in disguise, and has a secret that nobody would ever come to suspect.

Furlong has been busy since his time as young John.  He's appeared in "The Crow: Wicked Prayer," "American History X," "Detroit Rock City," and has a handful of films coming out soon.
