Colbert: "I Didn't Get It"

Despite surprisingly high polling numbers, the executive council of the South Carolina Democratic Party voted 13-3 against allowing Colbert to appear on the presiedntial primary ballot. He paid the $2,500 fee, which the party requires, and filed the proper forms to run. However, many on the board considered his bid for the Presidency – which he stated his intention to only conduct in
Party chairwoman Carol Fowler said on the air to Colbert: "I'm afraid that you didn't make the cut.
S.C. Democratic party spokesperson Keiana Page told CNN, "Those candidates who were rejected will receive their checks back," which is hardly a consolation.
Colbert also failed to qualify in time for the S.C. Republican party ballot, which required a filing fee of $35,000. Sounds like it's time for an independent candidacy to me. I still want to hear that Impeachment speech.
